Carnival Time!

On Tuesday we had our own Grenadian carnival!
At carnival time in Grenada, people often cook and eat Grenada's national dish; Oil Down. Here are some photos of us making our Oil Down.

Peeling cassava

Chopping plantain

 Chopping yams

Looking at what a breadfruit looks like inside...
We thought a bitter gourd looked a bit like a snozcumber from the BFG!
In Grenada, Oil Down is normally cooked in a large pot outdoors.

Our Oil Down had to cook for about an hour before it was ready to eat.

Some of us enjoyed the Oil Down more than others!

 Ready to party...

Here are some close ups of our amazing headdresses.
