Wormery Fun

Today was the day of our wormery project. We waterproofed up and headed out to the garden where we found all the stones, compost and most importantly the worms. The children got stuck in to digging for worms and they all have at least two worms in their wormery.

Chinese New Year

On Wednesday we had a fun afternoon learning all about the Chinese New Year and creating our own dragon with the Robins. We have now displayed it between the two classrooms.

Editing Stations

Editing is something in English that is very tricky. We are trying really hard at this in Skylarks and looking at individual things at different stations so we know what and how we should be editing.

Shared reading with Robins

We are very lucky that on Wednesday afternoons we have time to share our reading with the Robins. We buddy up and then listen and read to another child. This is a time the children now really look forward to.

Baking fun

Whilst some of our class were off at Sports hall Athletics, the rest of us had some fun baking banana and chocolate chip cookies. We had great fun and the children all got to eat one and take one home.

Mosaic Tiles

Sorry for delay in posts, the blog is now up and running again!

During the autumn term we had our Romans topic where we made a mosaic tile. We were really lucky to get lots of parents come in and enjoy making the tiles with the children. Thank you so much for a lovely afternoon.

The True Story of the Three Little Pigs

Today in Skylarks we read the story of 'The True Story of the Three Little Pigs'. The children had to work in their table groups to design, make and evaluate their own little pigs house. It was brilliant fun especially trying to blow the houses down with the hairdryer.
